Explosion sets Ballard Jack in the Box on Fire, “It’s Normalized Now” Say Residents

Ballard Jack in the Box up in Flames Homeless suspected of burning down part of Ballard @jackbox on Leary Way NW early Wednesday morning. Restaurant remains closed today. I saw worried workers in the parking lot trying to figure out next steps. This location remains problematic and is surrounded by multiple RV and tent encampments. @CMDanStrauss needs to focus on this part of his hood. It’s been cleared multiple times. @MayorofSeattle @GovInslee @kcexec @SeattleFire @CMTMosqueda @D5Juarez @SeattleCouncil @seattledot@KCCouncil #Seattle How Long Will This Last? On Thursday, 8th Ave NW and 6th Ave NW were clear of RV’s. I have not seen it like this for quite some time. But it’s a game a musical chairs. @Seattledot is enforcing the 72 Read More ›

“Children Should be Protected” Says Seattle Parent on Upcoming Protest for Encampment Resolution

Protest Preview Parents, neighbors, and supporters will be mobilizing Friday in #Seattle‘s Wallingford neighborhood. They are trying to put more pressure on elected officials who have allowed the Ship Canal Bridge encampment to remain in place despite murders, fires, and on going drug use across the street from John Stanford International School. All elected officials have been invited. @GovInslee @wsdot @WAStateCommerce @MayorofSeattle @SeattleCouncil @KCCouncil @CMSaraNelson @CMTMosqueda @D5Juarez @kcexec Organizers say, “Advocating for our children’s safety is not advocating against the needs of the unsheltered.” GAME PLAN: Meet at 8:15am in the school parking lot, march past the encampment, then rally on walkway overlooking I-5. Parent Eli Hosher says he will be bringing donuts for the homeless and wants to engage Read More ›

Homeless Offered Shelter and Services, Tents and RVs Remain

Streets of Seattle Since last year, I have covered multiple encampment sweeps on 3rd Ave S. and Utah Ave S. in SODO. But the tents and RV’s keep coming back and have been hunkered down for months. Business owners say they are demoralized and do not believe the city will ever resolve this. Remember, most of these folks have been offered shelter and services, but refused them. I recognize many of the same RV’s and vehicles that have simply moved around. There are also many new homeless campers. Along with the on going drug use and illegal activity in these situations, look at some of the weapons (SAMURAI SWORD) being carried around. Once again, Tammy Morales (@CMTammyMorales) is MIA and Read More ›

Far-Left Activists Set up New Encampments, Accuse Officials of Being Complicit in Deaths

Grand Re-Opening Hijacked Far-left activists with Stop The Sweeps #Seattle delayed the start of Saturday’s Ballard Commons Park festivities by more than 30 minutes. Some of them were swearing in front of children and slamming Councilmember Dan Strauss (@CMDanStrauss) and Mayor Bruce Harrell (@MayorofSeattle) for their policy on homeless encampment removals. @SeattlePark‘s leaders including Superintendent AP Diaz (@SeattleShines) were also on hand but their speaking engagement was cut from the program due to the disruption. But multiple angry neighbors pushed back against the activists and the celebration resumed. I’ve got a full report coming up. @GovInslee @kcexec @seattlecouncil @KCCouncil Growing Concern Look at the signs put up by Stop The Sweeps #Seattle. This FAR-LEFT activist group is well known for Read More ›

Outreach Workers Say They’re Clearing Encampments, But New Tents Being Built in International District

Crazy Town After numerous fires, shootings, and crimes associated with homeless encampments on @WSDOT properties in #Chinatown-ID, @KC_RHA CEO Marc Dones said outreach workers were now focusing on the neighborhood. But he wouldn’t say which camps or when it would all be cleared. He also failed to mention the plan for dealing with new campers who move in and add to the total. Homeless are now moving onto WSDOT properties, knowing they won’t be moved. There’s still no plan to get in front of these encampments before they spiral out of control. There’s also a problematic RV, feeding power to tents. Sunday afternoon, I saw several new tents being pitched on King St. @MayorofSeattle has the power and authority to Read More ›
