RVs and Tents Lining Seattle Streets Filled with Out-of-Towners

“Free-attle” Last year, Discovery Institute published a report showing most of the unsheltered homeless in Seattle are not from this city. Nothing has changed. Today in Ballard, I met so many new faces and transplants from out of state who are now living in tents and RV’s. Mayor-elect Katie Wilson has a “Free-atle” problem on her hands. Even outgoing Mayor Bruce Harrell acknowledged this inconvenient truth. Enabling Destructive Lifestyles So many free supplies enabling people to live on the streets until they die. The bleeding heart libs need to stop this madness. Discovery Institute’s Strategic Plan for Seattle Here is a link to the entire Discovery Institute report. Rapidly Growing Encampment Sits Unchallenged at Seattle Tourist Hotspot

Shooting Up Beneath the Space Needle Look at this debacle near the Seattle Space Needle, Gates Foundation, and The Museum of Pop Culture. One of the cities busiest tourist hot spots is under siege by tents and a rapidly growing drug encampment. Outgoing Mayor Bruce Harrell’s legacy on this massive street crisis is utter failure. Will Mayor-elect Katie Wilson make the same mistake and allow the city to descend into more chaos? Harrell’s Office Unresponsive I reached out to Harrell’s top PR guy Jamie Housen about these pop-up drug encampments wrecking the city. Still no response. Housen’s Previous PR Efforts Housen is also the same guy who called a peaceful Christian concert earlier this year at Cal Anderson Park an Read More ›

Open-Air Drug Dens Thrive Underneath Seattle Christmas Lights

Politicians Look the Other Way Don’t let all the pretty Christmas lights fool you. The drug dens in downtown Seattle are roaring out of control. Look at this one in front of the Olympic Tower Apartments at the corner of 3rd Ave and Pine St. Everyone is doing fentanyl. I bumped into this young Korean American woman who’s been a regular out here for years. She’s probably in her early 30’s but now looks like she’s in her 50’s from all the drug use. This human catastrophe continues unchecked in this city and the politicians are all looking the other way. King County Public Health is also MIA. Anyone ever see Councilmember Bob Kettle walk this nightmare stretch in his Read More ›

“This Is Worse Than I Have Seen Since 2020” Says Local Advocate of Tents in Seattle

Drug Addiction Overruns the City Streets Since the weekend, I have now counted more than 100 drug tents in Seattle’s Chinatown-ID and Beacon Hill neighborhoods which are next to each other. This is obviously an undercount since I can’t be everywhere. Drug addicts have also taken over Dr. Jose Rizal Park. Since outgoing Mayor Bruce Harrell has given up on the city, I am keeping a running list of encampments for Mayor-elect Katie Wilson. But it’s unclear if she will do anything about it. Btw, stop enabling these addicts by giving them free tents. The non-profits and virtue signaling Seattle residents are keeping vulnerable people on the streets. Get them into shelters, drive them to treatment, or send them home. Read More ›

Drug Encampment Proliferates Unchecked in Seattle’s Chinatown

Buying Fentanyl is “Cheaper than Kool-Aid” The latest drug encampment in Seattle is exploding out of control in Chinatown-ID. The entire area above the former Viet Wah grocery store on Jackson St. has repopulated with more than 20 tents. When I visited Monday afternoon, addicts were doing fentanyl and passed out. Everyone rejected offers for treatment. One guy said buying fetty was “cheaper than Kool-Aid.” The Sweeps Have Stopped I reported on this disaster last August. The city came in and cleared it. But with Mayor Bruce Harrell leaving office at the end of the year, it appears sweeps have slowed down to a halt in some instances. Housing First Has Failed Once again, this is not an affordable housing Read More ›

Small Businesses Struggle, Black Market of Stolen Goods Thrives in Seattle’s Chinatown

“We Call Every Week, But They Just Keep Ignoring” Christmas shopping is underway in downtown Seattle. But if you are looking for a good deal on stolen items, head to Chinatown-ID. Late Saturday evening, 12th Ave & Jackson St remains a total train wreck. Drug addicts are passed out in vestibules, the mentally ill are flailing in the streets, and cops are driving by without enforcing the law. The vast majority of the people admit they are not homeless. They are here to score drugs. Outgoing Mayor Bruce Harrell has failed this Asian American community after pushing “Housing First” and “harm reduction” policies that are not working. He allowed this neighborhood to turn into a containment zone and human dumping Read More ›

Seattle Mayoral Candidate Struggles to Answer Basic Questions About Homelessness

Seattle’s homeless drug crisis remains a top three issue for voters. During a recent debate, Mayor Bruce Harrell and mayoral candidate Katie Wilson were asked the following: “Should homeless people be allowed to stay in tents in parks?” “Should homeless people be allowed to live in sidewalks?” “Should people be allowed to smoke or use drugs like fentanyl in public places?” The moderator was asking for a simple yes or no response. But Katie Wilson seemed to waffle and struggle.

Little Saigon Left Behind: Crime, Chaos, and Political Silence

Conditions Worse Than Ever Seattle media outlets are scared to send in reporters to spotlight ongoing crime and chaos plaguing the Little Saigon neighborhood. I don’t blame them, it’s a major safety risk. So I had to call independent journalist Nick Shirley for another perspective. Shirley agrees the conditions on the ground are now worse than ever. He noted cops rarely stop in this hood or come out of their cars to patrol the streets. It seems like Mayor Bruce Harrell has thrown in the towel on this community even though the November General Election is only two months away. But mayoral candidate Katie Wilson hasn’t shown up either, failing to seize on an opportunity to get Asian American votes. Read More ›

Seattle’s Occidental Square Filled with Brand New Tents

Happening Now More than 20 homeless drug addicts are sleeping in Seattle’s Occidental Square Friday evening. If you look closer, most have brand new tents and sleeping bags. One guy says “mutual aid” comes every weekend to feed them, supply them, and offer free “harm reduction” supplies like meth pipes and fentanyl foil. Now you know why these men and women have zero incentive to get off the streets. They are treated like spoiled children. The far-left activists are essentially keeping them in their suffering instead of offering them a way out into treatment and recovery. The mayor should really know what’s happening on his streets.

Drive-By Shooting in Little Saigon Leaves One Man Injured

Breaking A shooting in Seattle’s Little Saigon neighborhood sent people running for cover late Friday afternoon. Witnesses say a White male unloaded several shots from a car window, targeting another man near the corner of the problematic 12th Ave & Jackson St intersection. Seattle Ranks Fourth Worst for Crime in Nation The victim was shot in the arm but is expected to survive. We Heart Seattle’s Andrea Suarez and I were doing outreach when the commotion broke out. This violence is being fueled by drugs and is another reason why Seattle ranks fourth worst in the nation for total crime, nearly triple the national average.
