Seattle City Council Passes New Ordinances Combatting Prostitution and Open-Air Drug Use

Lining Up One of the longest lines I have ever seen to enter Seattle Council Chambers. Neighbors and biz owners who support the SODA/SOAP bills are here to support laws that could help curb open air drug use and prostitution by creating “no-go zones.” But most of the people here are the usual far-left activists opposed to the legislation. Ground Rules Seattle Council President Sara Nelson just laid down expectations after far-left activists disrupted last week’s Public Safety Committee meeting. Some idiots also chanted “Cathy Moore is a wh*re,” totally disrespecting the lead councilmember behind the SOAP bill. Bingo is Back! Will New Seattle Legislation Targeting Open-Air Drug Dens Work?

Stay Out of Drug Area (SODA) Seattle leaders want to wipe out the open-air drug dens and black markets of stolen goods that are thriving in certain parts of the city. Will it work? New Legislation:“Stay Out of Drug Area (SODA) – authorizes the court to prohibit a defendant from entering a designated zone if they commit a drug-related criminal offense in that zone. SODA orders may be issued by the court either as a condition of pre-trial release, or a condition of sentence if convicted.”

Seattle Considers New Legislation to Curb Open-Air Drug Dens

NEW Seattle City Attorney Ann Davison just introduced aggressive public safety legislation to address the open-air drug dens in parts of downtown. The zones would be called a “Stay Out of Drug Area (SODA)” which includes the notorious 3rd Ave & Pike St. If anyone commits a drug related offense in that area, they won’t be able to come back. Meanwhile, the Downtown Seattle Association installed fencing to prevent drug addicts from using the alleyways. Proposed SODA Zones These are the two proposed zones. 12th Ave & Jackson St in Chinatown-ID is also included. This legislation is being backed by Councilmember Bob Kettle. Mayor Appears on Board This legislation is not a done deal, but it appears Mayor Bruce Harrell Read More ›
