San Antonio, Texas (September 24, 2024) — American citizens are the world’s top consumers of illicit synthetic Fentanyl that is often laced with other illicit drugs, including horse tranquilizers. The size of two grains of salt is enough to kill you.
The Fentanyl pipeline reaches communities across the U.S. and is killing the equivalent of one fully loaded Boeing 747 aircraft every two days. It does not discriminate against whom it kills. The skyrocketing addiction and deaths make our country the epicenter for a multi-billion-dollar criminal enterprise, with the highest death rate in the world. With its mass production, easy transport through country borders, and ease of use and procurement, Fentanyl has become the number one cause of death amongst ages 18-45, killing hundreds of thousands a year.
Fentanyl expert and former White House Policy Advisor, Dr. Robert G. Marbut, Jr., who has extensive experience working at the federal and local levels, teamed with filmmaker Stephen Wollwerth to tell the story of Fentanyl like never before.
Fentanyl: Death Incorporated documents the trail of Fentanyl from China to Mexico and Canada, and then to the U.S. through a series of visits to these countries while interviewing the top law enforcement agents, undercover U.S. intelligence officers, DEA agents, medical professionals, policymakers, former addicts and families impacted by this crisis.
Fentanyl has become the deadliest illicit drug ever invented on planet Earth, overwhelming local hospitals, governments, and law enforcement agencies by the magnitude of this crisis. Medical experts urge the public to avoid purchasing any kind of drugs off the street, where more than 60% of all illicit drugs are laced with Fentanyl, primarily due to batch mixing and cross-contamination.
Dr. Marbut is the former Executive Director of the Federal Interagency Council on Homelessness for two administrations with extensive experience countering illicit drug use and dealing with the American mental health crisis. His insight into policy and practical solutions offers a comprehensive and compassionate approach to tackling this public health crisis. He has a deep understanding of how untreated mental health and substance abuse disorders intersect, making him uniquely qualified to shed light on the Fentanyl epidemic.
Marbut’s documentary Fentanyl: Death Incorporated is narrated by William Baldwin and is scheduled to be released through Warner Brothers ADA on streaming platforms in early 2025.
