Earlier this month, and in cooperation with Discovery Institute, Capital Research Center published “Infiltrated: The Ideological Capture of Homeless Advocacy.” Since then, reporter and Senior Fellow Jonathan Choe presented the report directly to President Donald Trump, and now news outlets like Daily Mail and NewsNation are following up with their own reporting on the crisis.
NewsNation
NewsNation sent reporter Rich McHugh to Seattle, where he interviewed Jonathan Choe, We Heart Seattle founder Andrea Suarez, and Seattle Police Officers Guild president Mike Solan about the crossover between far-left radicals and industries purported to help the homeless. From the NewsNation report:
A report from two conservative think tanks alleged that members of antifa, the decentralized antifascist movement, have embedded themselves within the homeless industrial complex, and not only in Seattle’s homeless services sector.
NewsNation found evidence supporting the report’s claims, with activists confronting volunteers and disrupting encampment cleanup efforts.…
“It’s the same faction of people who link up and protest and do the black bloc, and they’re often the same people we see working inside social services, either as mutual aid or also employed there in the large nonprofits,” Andrea Suarez told NewsNation.

Daily Mail
Likewise, Daily Mail interviewed Jonathan Choe for more details on how this report came about:
‘What’s most sinister — and I think the average American is clueless on — is the fact that there’s so much taxpayer money going through these homeless nonprofits and housing providers, and indirectly it’s going to Antifa,’ said [Jonathan] Choe.
Choe, a fellow at the conservative Discovery Institute who helped produce the report, told the Daily Mail he first became suspicious while covering Stop the Sweep Seattle, a mutual-aid group that intervenes when police clear homeless encampments.
‘I would see a lot of these volunteers at a weekend Antifa rally, and then the following week, I’d see them at the anti-Israel rally,’ he said.
‘We just started to connect the dots and realized a lot of these Antifa militants were using these nonprofits as cover.’
