Exclusive

Controversial homeless services provider Plymouth Housing banned me, We Heart Seattle’s Andrea Suarez and podcaster Brandi Kruse from a secret ground breaking ceremony in Redmond, WA. But I exposed them anyway.

“Our Faces Were Plastered Everywhere”

On Wednesday, Plymouth hosted a private ceremony at the Hilton Garden Inn. It was invite only. Sources told me photos of our faces were plastered everywhere and security was told to keep us out.

Brandi Kruse’s Reporting

Kruse has been annihilating Plymouth.

Our Report on Low Barrier Housing

So has Suarez. She helped me expose all the crime, chaos, and death at Plymouth facilities.

Plymouth Housing/PorchLight Chaos

And lately, I’ve been ferociously covering the Plymouth Housing/PorchLight campus disaster in Bellevue. Residents are now concerned this is coming to Redmond.

Safe Eastside

Anyway, getting back to the Plymouth groundbreaking ceremony. Community advocacy group Safe Eastside had no idea this was happening.

Their members have been fighting Redmond Mayor Angela Birney and Plymouth for more than a year.

Insult to the Community

A SafeEastside spokesperson says this groundbreaking is an insult to the community since their group filed an appeal against Redmond’s decision to give Plymouth a land use permit. Plymouth cannot build without this so the project is not a done deal.

Wrapped Up in Legal Battles

A King County Superior Court judge will hear the case October 24 and Safe Eastside could take this appeal all the way to the WA State Supreme Court. So at the very least, this project could be delayed depending on how the legal process plays out.

Information War

So aside from the bans, and appeals, the other big story here is the ongoing information war. Plymouth leaders and the elected officials who enable this can no longer lie and spin the 911 calls and drug overdoses at these Housing First/harm reduction facilities.

Plymouth Avoids Media

So in order to take back the narrative, Plymouth did not invite anyone from Seattle media to the groundbreaking. CEO Karen Lee would have been bombarded with questions about all the public safety risks at her properties.

Press Release Leaves Out Problematic Details

Instead, Plymouth Housing leaders sent out a press release Thursday morning with their own version of events. Of course they left out all the problematic details plaguing their properties. They’re now hoping local mainstream media takes the bait.

State Senator Emily Alvarado

Btw, State Senator Emily Alvarado was also invited to the Plymouth Housing event. She is one of many progressive Democrats in the state who push more taxpayer dollars into these failed Housing First situations. She got away before I could ask her why she supports crime, chaos, and death that usually follows permanent supportive housing.
