Disastrous Commute Due to crime and open air drug use, King County Metro abruptly shut down two critical bus stops near 12th Ave & Jackson in Seattle’s Little Saigon. Instead of enforcing the law and making arrests, it appears officials are just going for the temporary band-aid approach and inconveniencing Asian American seniors. BTW, the drug dealing and black market of stolen goods just moved down a block.
Disastrous Commute Thursday morning, staff at Tukwila Station say this homeless guy was stumbling around and in really bad shape. Witnesses say he was seen consuming alcohol and drugs. Medics were called and riders expressed concern. But he was eventually allowed to board a King County Metro (@KingCountyMetro) bus in terrible shape. Now you know why so many people are afraid of taking public transportation. By the way, these major transit hubs are littered with foil and addicts are always nearby smoking fentanyl in plain sight. These spots really need priority policing.
New Developments King County Metro (@KingCountyMetro) is removing the bus shelter at 12th Ave and Jackson St in #Chinatown-ID in the coming weeks. Neighbors say the signs were posted a few days ago. REASON: “Ongoing safety issues and unsanitary conditions.” In other words, city and county leaders are now desperately trying to find solutions to address one of the most notorious hot spots for drug dealing, sales of stolen merchandise, and other crimes. These bus shelters are ideal since it gives cover for all the illicit activity. Problem is, when it rains or snows, Asian American seniors and other riders will have to deal with the elements.
