Police Response at DESC Location Recalls Years of Chaos Across Seattle
View at XLengthy Standoff
Massive police response late Tuesday evening to Interbay Place in Seattle’s West Queen Anne neighborhood.
Cops arrested 28 year old Benjamin G. White after a lengthy standoff. He allegedly threatened to kill another resident with a knife and barricaded himself in a room. While in custody, White reportedly bit, kicked, and spat on officers.
This is just the latest Downtown Emergency Service Center property responsible for more chaos in the community.
DESC remains the crown jewel in the region’s homeless industrial complex.
Trespassed
I’ve been exposing taxpayer funded DESC now for more than five years. And this Housing First provider hates it.
The leaders have officially banned me from their properties. My mug is now on pretty much every entrance.

Recipe for Disaster
But anyone with a brain now knows that “permanent supportive housing” in Seattle combined with mentally ill residents and free drug supplies is a recipe for disaster.
And the ongoing case study for this epic failure is DESC.

DESC Locations: Morrison and Lyon
In downtown Seattle, the Morrison and Lyon Building remain a blight on the city. The residents spill out into the community and consistently use drugs on the streets. Only a few businesses remain open in this area because of DESC.
Chased with Nunchucks
A guy hanging out in front of the Lyon building chased me away with nunchucks.
Chased with Knife
Then another maniac hanging out with people at the Lyon building tried to stab me with a knife.
Chased with Baseball Bat
And of course there is Jeffrey McMillan, the man who tried to take my head off with a baseball bat near the Morrison. DESC constantly attracts criminals to neighborhoods.
DESC Location: Clement Place
Clement Place in North Seattle is also another favorite. Neighbors say the DESC clients are constantly causing mayhem.
DESC Location: North Star
And look what’s happening in some of the newer DESC properties like the North Star. These emergency calls for crime, drug overdose deaths, and health related incidents are common at “low barrier” facilities.
DESC Location: Canaday House
DESC’s Canaday House in South Lake Union has also housed murder suspects.
DESC Location: Bloomside
Officials in Burien now have buyers remorse after allowing Bloomside into the community.
It has turned into the epicenter for crime, chaos, and death. Even dogs inside these DESC buildings are now overdosing on drugs.
DESC Location: Evans House
Almost forgot about DESC’s Evans House in Seattle’s First Hill neighborhood. Just looking at the horrible Google reviews for these properties.
Chinatown’s DESC Navigation Center Lease Not Renewed
But Seattle is finally starting to acknowledge the DESC cancer spreading into communities.
Earlier this year, the city chose not renew the lease with DESC’s Navigation Center in Chinatown-ID due to ongoing public safety concerns.
DESC Rammed Through Despite Citizen Concerns
The community warned Seattle leaders about DESC’s Navigation Center. But it got rammed through anyway. In the end, it cost taxpayers millions of dollars when all was said and done.
Rep. Nicole Macri (D)
WA Democratic State Rep. Nicole Macri is also the #2 at DESC. But her buildings are now under heavy scrutiny after Trump signed an executive order that cuts off federal funding to Housing First and “harm reduction” non-profits.
Drain on Police Resources
Bottom line, there is a massive cost doing business with DESC. The drain on police resources is out of control. Politicians supporting “permanent supportive housing” always leave out that inconvenient truth. I’m looking forward to getting the final stats for 2025.

Discovery Institute is Only Game in Town
Scary part is, I’ve only covered a fraction of these insane 911 calls triggered by DESC.
Once again, Discovery Institute media is the only game in town consistently covering the region’s homeless drug crisis.
