Police Response at DESC Location Recalls Years of Chaos Across Seattle

Lengthy Standoff Massive police response late Tuesday evening to Interbay Place in Seattle’s West Queen Anne neighborhood. Cops arrested 28 year old Benjamin G. White after a lengthy standoff. He allegedly threatened to kill another resident with a knife and barricaded himself in a room. While in custody, White reportedly bit, kicked, and spat on officers. This is just the latest Downtown Emergency Service Center property responsible for more chaos in the community. DESC remains the crown jewel in the region’s homeless industrial complex. Trespassed I’ve been exposing taxpayer funded DESC now for more than five years. And this Housing First provider hates it. The leaders have officially banned me from their properties. My mug is now on pretty much Read More ›

Seattle’s Closed DESC Navigation Center Becomes Abandoned Drug Den

Hopes Dwindle The notorious DESC Navigation Center in Seattle’s Little Saigon is now closed. Neighbors hope this move will keep away crime and open-air drug use. But people are now camping on the lawn and setting fires outside this former homeless shelter. Will Mayor Bruce Harrell step up to help or will this abandoned building be seized by the addicts? Encounter with DESC Staff One of my many encounters with DESC staff. They don’t like to be exposed.

Disturbing 911 Audio from Low Barrier Seattle Facility

Chilling 911 dispatch call over the weekend in response to some sort of gruesome incident at DESC's Northstar building in Seattle. The operator describes a trail of blood coming from a room and leading to the elevator. It's unclear what happened but the operator goes on to say the female resident has a history of the son abusing her. Read More ›

Homeless Man Shot Outside Shelter in Little Saigon

Exclusive Tuesday evening, witnesses say a man carrying a gun unloaded at least 30 rounds in the direction of people sitting on the steps behind DESC’s Navigation Center (@DESCSeattle) in Little Saigon. One homeless man in his 50’s was hit in the buttocks. Victim stumbled to the corner of 12th Ave & Weller St where first responders arrived and took him to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. Apparently he was not the intended target. Shooter is still on the loose. The Navigation Center is one of several problematic homeless shelters in or around Chinatown-ID. It remains a major blight on the community since it feeds the open air drug market right around the corner and continues to attract addicts to Read More ›

Jonathan Choe Chased by Man with Nunchucks Downtown Seattle

Lost Cause Day or night, this part of downtown Seattle near DESC’s (@DESCSeattle) Morrison and Lyon Building continues to be a blight on the city. Multiple 911 calls to this location each day. Zero accountability and city leaders like Councilmember Andrew Lewis (@CMAndrewJLewis) cannot keep up with the insanity. Drug addicts, tents, and mentally ill people flood 3rd Ave & Cherry St at all hours of the day. Even after more than a year of sweeps, the so called “trap tents” keep coming back. People are doing drugs under umbrellas and carry all sorts of weapons out here. As long as a DESC property is in your hood, city leaders must continue with the sweeps and have extra security on Read More ›

Downtown Encampment Cleared Dozens of Times Poses Safety Threat

Close Call Once again, #Seattle crews cleared tents along 3rd Ave & Cherry St, block away from City Hall. I usually go back to see if anyone returned. Today, a deranged AXE WIELDING man came charging at me. Officials have to STOP this from coming back. @MayorofSeattle @GovInslee Danger to Community As I have reported before, area’s been cleared dozens of times. But many are not homeless and stay nearby at @DESCSeattle‘s Lyon building or Morrison. They set up “trap tents” to sell or do drugs. Worst kept secret. @MayorofSeattle @KC_RHA @kcexec#Seattle Back in November 2022 New Year same issues at 3rd Ave & Cherry St, one of most problematic areas in city. Many say they are not homeless. They Read More ›
