Microsoft Pulls Major Tech Conference from Seattle Over Crime, Drug Use, Homelessness

Seattle has lost one of its most high-profile tech events due to mounting concerns over public safety and deteriorating conditions in the city’s downtown core. Microsoft has confirmed that it will no longer host its annual Build conference in Seattle starting in 2026, citing issues related to rampant homelessness, visible drug use, and urban decay. According to an internal email obtained by journalist Jonathan Choe of the Discovery Institute, Visit Seattle—the city’s official tourism and marketing organization—was informed that Microsoft will cancel its 2026 event and release all future holds for the conference in Seattle. The email, titled “DEFINITE BOOKING CANCELLATION NOTICE,” said the decision was heavily influenced by the experience of company leadership and attendees walking the downtown core Read More ›

Internal Memo: Urban Decay “Contributing Factor” to Microsoft Conference Leaving Seattle

Breaking I have obtained the internal memo outlining reasons behind Microsoft Build’s exit from Seattle. This is an absolute indictment on Mayor Bruce Harrell’s administration and shows his failure to get the homeless drug crisis under control. Seeking Next Location Microsoft Build says it has “struggled to find its footing and identity post-Covid.” It appears Las Vegas and San Francisco are two locations already being floated around for its next developers conference. Urban Decay “was a contributing factor to their final decision” But here’s the real kicker. Redmond, WA-based Microsoft is done walking around tents, urban filth, and open-air drug use in Seattle’s downtown core. Mayor Harrell had nearly four years in office to handle this problem but has failed Read More ›

Microsoft Conference Leaving Seattle Due to Urban Decay

Breaking Seattle restauranteur David Meinert says the massive Microsoft Build developer conference won’t be returning to Seattle next year after attendees complained about urban decay, open-air drug use, and numerous tents lining the streets. Mayor Bruce Harrell Meinert is also torching Mayor Bruce Harrell for allowing these conditions to prosper in the downtown core and claims the Downtown Activation plan is bloated with bureaucracy and is lacking leadership. Disruptions Pro-Hamas protesters also disrupted Microsoft Build 2025 in Seattle, harassing attendees with insane glitter bombs. Lone Tent Downtown residents say this is the lone tent the city has failed to remove near the Seattle Convention Center. It has been reported to the Find It Fix it app numerous times. Seattle Government Ignores Suffering of Chinatown

Chinatown-ID Residents Skeptical Wednesday morning, Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell will announce new investments and partnerships with The Asian American Foundation and Amazon to help improve public safety and help revitalize business in Chinatown-ID. But a community coalition led by Tanya Woo is only cautiously optimistic since this community has become the city’s human dumping ground and remains ravaged by crime, chaos, and death. Each day, Asian American grandmas have to walk through this gauntlet of drug addicts and maneuver around the black market of stolen goods on King Street. “The police here just kind of chase them away, and like, two hours later, they come back,” says one resident. Right across the street is Ho Mai Park. Instead of laughter Read More ›

Bryan Mistele Talks to Jason Rantz about Tough Decision to Move INRIX

A low barrier homeless shelter anticipated to open in Kirkland, Washington, is driving business owner Bryan Mistele and his company out of the city. Mistele is the co-founder and CEO of INRIX, a transportation company headquartered in Kirkland, Washington. Kirkland is moving forward on a plan to convert a hotel across from INRIX into a homeless shelter, with no drug testing or treatment required. Mistele appeared on the Jason Rantz show to discuss why this is a bad idea, and why it has forced his company — one of the largest employers in Kirkland — out of the city. Kirkland Low Barrier Housing Pushed Through Despite Community Concerns

New King County’s latest homeless hotel is set to open in Kirkland this summer. It’s “low barrier” and drug addicts will be allowed on site without any requirements to seek treatment. They call it “Health Through Housing.” During Tuesday evening’s community forum, concerned residents were not satisfied with the responses and non-answers to their questions. Despite major community concerns about crime and 911 calls spiking in the area, the woke city council capitulated and gave into Dow Constantine’s demands. It’s now pretty much a done deal. Controversial housing provider Plymouth Housing will run the joint.

Community Activists Organize Press Conference Outside Controversial Seattle Homeless Shelter

New Chinatown-ID is fighting back and demanding more support and security from Seattle leaders. Monday morning, community activists will be holding a press conference at 10:00 am in front of DESC’s Navigation Center. This controversial “low barrier” homeless shelter is being blamed for attracting crime, chaos, and death to this neighborhood. That’s because drug use is allowed and supplies are freely given out without any requirements for treatment. This past weekend a hoard of addicts overwhelmed the sidewalk right outside this facility, corroborating neighbor concerns. It was supposed to finally close by the end of January. But Mayor Bruce Harrell delayed the move until March, enraging neighbors and biz owners who have already sacrificed so much. Press Release Leading the Read More ›

Driver Safety Sparks Chinatown Bustop Closure

Disastrous Commute Due to crime and open air drug use, King County Metro abruptly shut down two critical bus stops near 12th Ave & Jackson in Seattle’s Little Saigon. Instead of enforcing the law and making arrests, it appears officials are just going for the temporary band-aid approach and inconveniencing Asian American seniors. BTW, the drug dealing and black market of stolen goods just moved down a block.

Summit Sierra High School May Leave Due to Crime

Breaking Multiple sources say Summit Sierra High School is trying to leave Seattle’s Chinatown-ID neighborhood due to high crime and open-air drug use. Enrollment has plummeted. I first reported on this last year. Nothing has changed.
