Seattle’s New Strategy After months of complaints from neighbors, Seattle Parks and Recreation has temporarily shut down Lake City Mini Park. The move was made a few days ago. Unclear when it will re-open. The drug encampments, sex trafficking, shootings, and fights were just too much for this community. The city is clearly acknowledging neighbor concerns. But is this really going to be the strategy moving forward to deal with crime emanating from encampments? This is a horrible sign for public safety in the city.

When Mount Baker neighbors in Seattle recently documented 49 tent encampments and 5 vehicle encampments within just a few blocks of schools, transit stations, grocery stores, parks and daycare centers, they weren’t conducting an academic exercise. They were mapping a crisis that has made their neighborhood unlivable. Their experience reveals everything wrong with Seattle’s approach to homelessness and public safety. Encampment at the Center of Crime Concerns More insane violence in Seattle’s Lake City neighborhood now being blamed on the homeless drug ecosystem. Neighbors are wondering why Mayor Bruce Harrell is ignoring the problem. Since the double homicide at Virgil Flaim Park earlier this month, there have been more stabbing/slashing incidents. Sources on the ground tell me most of the criminals flow through this encampment at Lake City Mini Park. Elected officials and cops know this as well but are being accused of looking the other way. How come?

Human Dumping Ground Seattle’s Little Saigon neighborhood has been a human dumping ground for homeless drug addicts and is now the epicenter for the black market of stolen goods. But Saturday afternoon, we saw the potential of this Asian American community when it’s actually cleaned up. Of course this was in preparation for Mayor Bruce Harrell’s visit to the street festival. Problematic Plymouth After numerous problematic incidents at the Plymouth Housing/PorchLight campus in Bellevue, more neighbors are starting to scrutinize this facility and are now demanding accountability. This Eastgate location triggers the most 911 calls in the city and is responsible for drug overdoses, fights, and recently housed a homeless murder suspect who remains on the loose. Killer on the Loose The Bellevue homeless killer is still on the loose. Cops are asking for the public to keep an eye out for Samuel Hitchcock, the prime suspect in this case. He’s been spotted in the Seattle area since the body of Jason Clark was discovered on June 30 in the Eastgate neighborhood. Meanwhile, citizen journalists with FB group “Factoria Looks Like Shiit” are now looking into this case. They have some new insight into the suspect and victim’s connection to the Plymouth Housing/PorchLight homeless complex, which is right next to the homicide scene. The facility remains a crime magnet and cancer on the community.

Latest Incident Why would anyone want to take a King County Metro bus in Seattle? Riders say they have to share space with homeless fentanyl addicts and the mentally ill. Here is the latest incident where this fella went on a profanity laced bender, bashing his head into the window several times. He’s apparently a regular on the E and H lines. Even after numerous complaints about public safety, riders say the agency only responds with robo emails. In other words, ride at your own risk.

Lawlessness Reigns It’s the worst kept secret in Seattle, but King County Metro buses are being used by criminals to transport stolen goods. The addicts tell me they like to ransack the downtown Target store, then bring the items back to 12th Ave and Jackson St. in Little Saigon. As I was conducting an interview, a dude got off the bus with a duffle bag and started flipping stolen sneakers, cologne, and promising to come back with even more items. The proceeds are then likely used to buy fentanyl or other illegal street drugs. Once again, no cops in sight. Mayor Bruce Harrell’s city remains a lawless playground.

Criminal Playground Senior citizens say they are scared to walk around parts of Seattle. The city has turned into a criminal’s playground under Mayor Bruce Harrell. So some of them are now carrying “taser canes.” We Heart Seattle’s Andrea Suarez got a demonstration. I think I need one as well.
