Little Saigon Left Behind: Crime, Chaos, and Political Silence

Conditions Worse Than Ever Seattle media outlets are scared to send in reporters to spotlight ongoing crime and chaos plaguing the Little Saigon neighborhood. I don’t blame them, it’s a major safety risk. So I had to call independent journalist Nick Shirley for another perspective. Shirley agrees the conditions on the ground are now worse than ever. He noted cops rarely stop in this hood or come out of their cars to patrol the streets. It seems like Mayor Bruce Harrell has thrown in the towel on this community even though the November General Election is only two months away. But mayoral candidate Katie Wilson hasn’t shown up either, failing to seize on an opportunity to get Asian American votes. Read More ›

Seattle’s Occidental Square Filled with Brand New Tents

Happening Now More than 20 homeless drug addicts are sleeping in Seattle’s Occidental Square Friday evening. If you look closer, most have brand new tents and sleeping bags. One guy says “mutual aid” comes every weekend to feed them, supply them, and offer free “harm reduction” supplies like meth pipes and fentanyl foil. Now you know why these men and women have zero incentive to get off the streets. They are treated like spoiled children. The far-left activists are essentially keeping them in their suffering instead of offering them a way out into treatment and recovery. The mayor should really know what’s happening on his streets.

Drive-By Shooting in Little Saigon Leaves One Man Injured

Breaking A shooting in Seattle’s Little Saigon neighborhood sent people running for cover late Friday afternoon. Witnesses say a White male unloaded several shots from a car window, targeting another man near the corner of the problematic 12th Ave & Jackson St intersection. Seattle Ranks Fourth Worst for Crime in Nation The victim was shot in the arm but is expected to survive. We Heart Seattle’s Andrea Suarez and I were doing outreach when the commotion broke out. This violence is being fueled by drugs and is another reason why Seattle ranks fourth worst in the nation for total crime, nearly triple the national average. Out-of-Touch Leaders Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell has lost control of public safety in this predominantly Read More ›

Seattle Mayoral Candidate Katie Wilson Answers Questions About Sweeps

Exclusive Over the weekend, I confronted Seattle mayoral candidate Katie Wilson about her Transit Riders Union’s ties to controversial far-left activist group Stop The Sweeps Seattle. They’ve been a thorn in the side of Mayor Bruce Harrell since the beginning of his administration. The groups were making so-called “harm reduction” kits for homeless drug addicts which usually includes meth pipes and fentanyl foil. Some critics call these “suicide kits” and believe it enables drug addiction and death. I also asked Wilson if she would use sweeps to clear drug encampments in the city. Wilson Believes in Harm Reduction It’s unclear if Wilson attended this volunteer event. But she has stated in the past that she believes in the “harm reduction” Read More ›

Another Life Lost to Drug Overdose on Mayor Harrell’s Watch

None of Mayor Harrell’s Policies Are Working Another horrific drug overdose death in Seattle’s Chinatown-ID. Just days after Mayor Bruce Harrell cleared the streets for his visit, all the drug hotspots have come roaring back. None of his policies are working to permanently fix this neighborhood. Meanwhile, Katie Wilson could become the city’s next mayor. She has an opportunity to share her plans to revitalize this marginalized community of color. But Wilson has yet to show up and meet with elders or business leaders. Bottom line, it appears the CID is lost regardless of who wins in November.

Lake City Residents Alarmed as Violence Tied to Encampment Escalates

Encampment at the Center of Crime Concerns More insane violence in Seattle’s Lake City neighborhood now being blamed on the homeless drug ecosystem. Neighbors are wondering why Mayor Bruce Harrell is ignoring the problem. Since the double homicide at Virgil Flaim Park earlier this month, there have been more stabbing/slashing incidents. Sources on the ground tell me most of the criminals flow through this encampment at Lake City Mini Park. Elected officials and cops know this as well but are being accused of looking the other way. How come?

Community Members Launch We Heart Lake City After Double Murder in Public Park

Taking Matters Into Their Own Hands After years of failure and neglect under Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell and certain city councilmembers, an insurgent group of Lake City neighbors are now turning to We Heart Seattle for help. They’re taking matters into their own hands and forming a community coalition to address homeless drug encampments and crime before it’s too late. The recent murders at Virgil Flaim Park pushed them over the edge and they’re now preparing to publicly shame politicians into action.

Seattle’s Little Saigon Cleaned Up for Mayoral Visit

Human Dumping Ground Seattle’s Little Saigon neighborhood has been a human dumping ground for homeless drug addicts and is now the epicenter for the black market of stolen goods. But Saturday afternoon, we saw the potential of this Asian American community when it’s actually cleaned up. Of course this was in preparation for Mayor Bruce Harrell’s visit to the street festival. I asked Harrell how he plans to keep this neighborhood safe and clean. Right after my interview with the Mayor, some unhinged drug addicts attacked me for recording. Just another routine day in the hood.

Seattle’s War on Graffiti Backfires on Its Own Mural

Who’s Winning the Graffiti Wars? Graffiti vandals have started to trash Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell’s “One Seattle” mural that is near Sturgus Park and Jose Rizal Bridge. This was part of the city’s $1.3 million anti-graffiti initiative. Guess who’s winning this battle?

The Median is a Bathroom: Seattle’s Homelessness Crisis Continues to Spiral

Out of Control The homeless drug crisis is spiraling out of control in Seattle. More than a dozen tents have re-populated along Airport Way in SODO. These are the “service resistant” class of people who keep moving around the city. Mayor Bruce Harrell has no solutions.
