Canceled The Seattle Public Library says there will be no more People’s Harm Reduction Alliance workshops at local branches this year. This news comes after staff with the controversial harm reduction provider got triggered by my video recording, and abruptly canceled the drug paraphernalia workshop. SPL is also responding to some of my questions about FREE Narcan needle kits being given out at the counter with easy access to kids. Seattle Public Library Holds Harm Reduction Courses

Exclusive The Seattle Public Library is now allowing the controversial People’s Harm Reduction Alliance to hold classes on how to properly use drug paraphernalia. The Capitol Hill library branch is also giving away free Narcan at the front desk in the form of needle kits with ZERO training and easy access to minors. Seattle Closes Seven Hills Park in Attempt to Control Homeless Encampment

More Park Closures Another Seattle Park temporarily closed because of homeless drug addicts. This time it’s Seven Hills Park in Capitol Hill. The park at the corner of E. Howell St and 16th Ave. has been cleared out more than a dozen times in the past four years.

Authorities Sweep Capitol Hill, But Problematic Encampment Still Remains

More Work On Thursday city cleared encampments along E. Howell St. in Capitol Hill including one near Greek Orthodox Church with 3 people. But city did not include one that’s really problematic on 17th Ave. blamed for fires, drugs, and trash piles. Capitol Hill Crisis This is what it looked like for weeks leading up to Thursday’s sweep. And 17th Ave. is still a hot mess. Next Stretch Explosive growth of tents at 17th Ave and E. Howell St. First week of January, cops got called for “incendiary device.” Ended up being guy burning fire to stay warm. Camps remain major liability and drain on city.

First Encampment Cleared Under Gov. Inslee’s ‘Rights-of-Way Initiative’ in Capitol Hill

Exclusive Video This morning, @WSDOT says this homeless encampment in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood was the first one cleared under @GovInslee Rights-of-Way Initiative, a state wide effort to finally clear encampments along the highway. More details coming up. Huge Initiative WA Dept. of Commerce controlling purse strings. Each county must submit proposal for types of services and housing needed to serve homeless on highways.
