Homeless Man Says He Came to Seattle Because Nowhere Else Tolerates Street Life

“Everywhere else you get kind of shuttered down.” Holy crap! The latest drug encampment at 10th Ave S. & S. Weller St in Chinatown-ID is massive. There are at least 25 people living here. Once again, Mayor Katie Wilson is allowing this Asian American community to turn into a human dumping ground. She sweeps the rest of the city and it all ends up here. Meanwhile, I spoke to a young man named Rolland who says he moved from Whatcom County to King County because this region enables street life. “So stay out here and live how we want to live. You know everywhere else you get kind of shuttered down.” Even the homeless from other parts of WA know Read More ›

Black Market of Stolen Goods and Open-Air Drug Use Thrive in Seattle’s Chinatown

Tiny Homes Won’t Solve This Problem Sunday evening, the drug den at the corner of 12th Ave & Jackson St in Seattle’s Chinatown-ID is spiraling out of control. A hoard of addicts are flipping stolen items on the sidewalk which is just a blocks away from Summit Sierra High School. Who needs a bassinet or brand new Nikes? This has nothing to do with homelessness. The vast majority of people out here have housing and are using the streets as a hang out. Constructing tiny houses will not solve this problem. There is no way Mayor Katie Wilson will be able to contain this disaster by building more wooden shacks. Too bad City Attorney Erika Evans refuses to prosecute open-air Read More ›

Seattle Mayor Announces Big Business Partnerships to Fund Same Failed Homelessness Policies

Starbucks: From Foe to Friend Last year Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson blasted Starbucks while standing in solidarity with workers on strike. This week, she announced the local coffee giant would help fund the first phase of the city’s homelessness response. So is the mayor now pandering to Starbucks or is Starbucks pandering to the mayor? Either way, we all know how the last public-private partnership to end homelessness turned out for local donors and the government. Past Failed Attempts Remember We Are In? The King County Regional Homelessness Authority under former CEO Marc Dones got corporations like the Gates Foundation to pony up millions of dollars to solve homelessness. Amazon, Microsoft, Ballmer Group, and the Raikes Foundation were also involved. Read More ›

Seattle Mayor Continues to Push Failed Homelessness Policies

No Plan for Drug Treatment and Recovery Options Wednesday evening, Mayor Katie Wilson shared more details about her plan to address the homeless drug crisis destroying the city. As expected, Wilson put an emphasis on how her office was taking the initiative to build more tiny houses and pallet shelters before the FIFA World Cup in June. But Wilson shared virtually ZERO details on drug treatment and recovery options for addicts suffering on the streets. Wilson just said “wrap around services” would be offered to residents at these shelters. In other words, no requirement to use the treatment and recovery options. It’s the same talking point parroted for more than a decade by every King County Democrat that’s presided over Read More ›

Who Oversees the System? Questions of Transparency in Seattle’s Homelessness Strategy

A City in Urgency Seattle is moving rapidly to expand shelter for homeless drug addicts before the FIFA World Cup comes to the city. Faster than the public has been given time to fully understand. Mayor Katie Wilson set a goal of adding hundreds of new units in a matter of months. The strategy relies heavily on taxpayer dollars to expand tiny house villages. No one questions the urgency. But speed should not replace accountability and transparency. Lack of Transparency Right now, Seattle is making high-impact decisions about land, funding, and service delivery through a relatively tight network of policymakers, advisors, and providers. And the public has not been given a clear, transparent picture of how those decisions are being made. Read More ›

Seattle Sweeps Encampment in Front of City-Funded Homeless Service Provider

The Sweeps Continue Aggressive drug encampment sweeps in Seattle are happening on Easter weekend under Mayor Katie Wilson. On Saturday, city crews removed the so called “service resistant” from the corner of 3rd Ave and Blanchard St. But they all came roaring back after cops left the area. The game of Whack-A-Mole is out of control. This is near REACH HQ, the homeless outreach division of Evergreen Treatment Services. This non-profit has received millions of dollars in taxpayer funding from the city to address the street crisis. Yet they can’t even handle the problem right in front of their building. If one of the primary agencies tasked with getting men and women into housing can’t figure this out, how are Read More ›

Downtown Seattle Association President: “We’re Going in the Wrong Direction”

Raising the Alarm Holy crap! Downtown Seattle Association President and CEO John Scholes is going nuclear. He annihilated the so called “progressive tax” and says it’s crippling the downtown business core in Seattle. With sobering data, Scholes masterfully lays out his case and also acknowledges Bellevue is quickly becoming the new destination for business owners. Meanwhile, far-left politicians like Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson, CM Alexis Mercedes Rinck, and WA State Rep. Shaun Scott claim the “progressive tax” will help revitalize the city. So who do you believe, Scholes or these socialist elected officials? Masked and Moved Scholes confirms what I have been reporting for years. All the crime in the downtown shopping corridor was simply pushed to nearby Belltown and Read More ›

Fentanyl Addicts Seen Unconscious in Ballard Homeless Encampment

The Real Root Causes More startling images coming out of the Ballard drug encampment in Seattle. Multiple people are passed out with fentanyl foil in their hands. On Wednesday, I told you about an Asian American woman who was cleared out during the massive Fred Meyer sweep. I’ve learned this young woman’s name is Juliana and she’s 27 years old. She says her family is in the area but would not get into reasons why she’s on the streets. Don’t listen to Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson when she claims this is an affordable housing crisis. That narrative only benefits HOMELESS INC and the builders. This is about drugs, mental illness, and broken relationships. Those are the roots causes fueling the Read More ›

Seattle Sweeps, Encampment Moves Down the Block

The Never-Ending Cycle Another mega sweep in the books under Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson. Wednesday morning, crews cleared out dozens of drug addicts near the Ballard Fred Meyer store and Burke-Gilman Trail. As expected, only a few people got apartments or tiny houses. The rest rejected shelter options being offered and moved down the block to start the fourth iteration of this encampment. Most stunning of all, I saw a young Asian American woman looking totally out of place. Spotting anyone from this racial group in one of the city’s drug dens is a rare occurrence. I tried to help. But the guys surrounding her made sure she stayed. Does anyone recognize her? What is going on here?

Stop the Sweeps Seattle Turns on Mayor Wilson

“Expect to hear more from us…” Stop The Sweeps Seattle is now making veiled threats at Mayor Katie Wilson. The Antifa aligned far-left activist group claims Wilson isn’t stopping encampment removals. So it appears they’re getting ready to protest and be disruptive, just like the old days. “Expect to hear more from us about the Wilson administration moving forward…” Bait-and-Switch According to Stop The Sweeps, they expected Wilson to be a friendly. Instead, they now realize the socialist mayor is a politician, just like her predecessor Bruce Harrell. Stretched Thin Stop The Sweeps also implies volunteer comrades are stretched thin due to all the other causes they are trying to protest.
