As Sunday's Seattle Pride Parade made its way through downtown, the drug dealers and addicts were operating just a block away on 3rd Ave & Pike St. How is this still being allowed? Read More ›

Drug Dens Empty During Seattle Pride Parade

Fentanyl Free…Sort of On Sunday afternoon, the Seattle Pride Parade (@OurSeattlePride) flowed through downtown #Seattle and brought in a ton of people. There was also a heavy police (@SeattlePD) presence at many street corners along the parade route. For the first time in nearly a year, I saw the potential of 3rd and Pike St, free and clear of drugs and the black market of stolen goods. In reality, a few addicts were still lingering around the Ross Store vestibules and bus stops. But the insane hoards of people congregating in the drug dens were gone this past weekend. “Trap Tents” Back After Third Avenue Encampment Sweep

Happening Now Earlier in the week, the notorious 3rd Ave and Cherry St. encampment near #Seattle City Hall was gone. Despite Sweeps, New Tents Continue to Pop Up on 3rd Ave. and Cherry Street

Problem Spot Tents pop up almost daily on 3rd Ave. between Cherry St. and Columbia St. near #Seattle City Hall. Turning into a game of “whack a mole” for @MayorofSeattle. Remaining biz’s in area say they’re getting crushed by this cycle. Drugs Drugs Drugs So many addicts are using these doorways in downtown Seattle to block the wind as they light up to smoke crack/meth/”blues.” Then they pass out right on the spot. On Going I have PERSONALLY witnessed at least 5 sweeps here on 3rd Ave. and Cherry St just in the past few months. I check back several times. @MayorofSeattle staying on this one in downtown core before it gets out of control. But tents keep coming back!
